FOOTBALL: Messi wins 7th Pichichi Award, 3rd Zamora Trophy for Courtois

29% of Barcelona goals this season has been scored by Lionel Messi. The 6-time Ballon d’Or winner has won his 7th Pichichi Award, beating second-place Karim Benzema on 21 goals.

Despite Messi having a month-injury at the start of the season, Leo still netted 25 La Liga goals for Barcelona. Even at age 33, Messi’s importance to Barcelona is still clear for all to see.

Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois won the Zamora Trophy, his third in his career. The Belgian won his previous two during his time at Atletico Madrid. Courtois finished above Jan Oblak and Unai Simon in standings, conceding 0.59 goals per game.
