POETRY FRIDAY LINE 38: SELF MIRAGE
SELF MIRAGE
Whenever you see me putting a big smile on my face
Don’t you ever be deceived that all is well
No, something is prompting it –
The fear of discouraging others.
Whenever you see me withstanding a crowd of armies
Don’t think I am naturally brave
No, something is strengthening me –
The fear of loosing the battle.
Whenever you see me enduring a high intensity of light
Don’t think I am resistible
No, something is galvanizing me –
The fear of allowing darkness into the scene.
Whenever you see me trying to cover up my flaws
Don’t think I am hypocrite
No, something is at the back of my mind –
The fear of creating a bad impression about life.
Whenever you see me ready to sacrifice my little for others
Don’t be tempted to call me a fool
No, something is disturbing me –
The fear of seeing others unhappy.
Whenever you see me working tirelessly
Don’t think I am allergic to rest
No, something is keeping me –
The fear of laziness.
And whenever you see me loving everyone
Don’t think I am an addict
No, something is forcing me into it –
The fear of leaving a fellow human unloved.
