Is no surprise the Netherland defender won the award. He’s been top class this season since his move from Southampton. Virgil Van Dijk is regarded at the moment as the *Current Best Defender*.
Virgil Van Dijk defeated Raheem Sterling and a host of Manchester City players for the PFA(Professional Footballers Association) award. Othes on the list for the award included: City’s Sergio Aguero,Bernando Silva,his teammate Sadio Mane and Chelsea’s Eden Hazard.

He’s helped solve Liverpool’s defensive errors. Though he’s now the current PFA award holder,his next test is against Lionel Messi on Wednesday in the Champions league.
The PFA Award team(Male) includes: Liverpool’s (Van Dijk,Sadio Mane,Alexander-Arnold,Robertson)
,City’s (Ederson,Sterling,Laporte,Bernando Silva,Fernandinho,Aguero) and Manchester United’s (Paul Pogba).
Arsenal star and Netherland International Vivianne Meidema won the PFA Women Player of the Year Award. Though on the trophy,her name was spelt incorrectly: *Vivienne* instead of Vivianne.
