Alvaro MORATA joins ATLETICO MADRID on loan from Chelsea

26 year old Spanish International Alvaro Morata ⚽🇪🇸 has joined Atletico Madrid on a long loan(until summer 2020) move from Chelsea.

Since his back injury,Morata has struggled with goals for the Blues. His poor form caused him an omission from the 2018 World Cup list of Spain. He was also ineffective under both managers Antonio Conte and Current Chelsea Coach Sarri,this made the Blues secure the services of Argentine forward Gonzalo Higuain on loan from Juventus.

The Spaniard has been handed the No.22 jersey and will add to the attacking threat of his new club Atletico Madrid consisting of fellow country man and former Chelsea striker Diego Costa with French World Cup winner Antoine Griezmann. Morata has good knowledge of La Liga football having played for spanish giants Real Madrid. He also spent 4 years as an Atletico Madrid youth academy player before getting his professional breakthrough playing at rival club Real Madrid.

Morata has completed his medical and can’t wait to meet his new teammates and start playing on the field under Coach Diego Simeone.
