POETRY: Friends

Title: FRIENDS by Mbah Chiamaka
Frightened  and shattered
               Lost and battered
Chocked in a world where no one is bothered
Left to die in fields, forefront, forest or furnace
Rid of hope or feeling yet still wavering
A hand comes in,not clear in sight
There’s a blur in mind and seeds of doubt
At once instincts act and you curl up in your shell
Too broken you are to try this again
Then wait you do for the bothersome one to leave
Again it comes, wavering all the more
You set up fences to guard your ground
Iron, metal, fiercest bars to cage your heart from another shatter
But yet still it lingers on
Slowly but cautiously you warm up to it,hope is found in the lingering one
You’re pulled out of your shell and earned a heart
The feeling of relief begins to settle in
Finally that someone with whom you can relate with
Mainly brings smiles and little quirks
        Little fights that quickly mellows
With tears in eyes and hugs we bellow
We forgive each other and move on forward
That’s a friend through thick and thin we bloom
