FOOTBALL: Ronaldo missed penalty; Juventus scale through to Coppa Italia Final

Juventus were able to scale through to the Coppa Italia Final despite Ronaldo’s missed penalty.

The Serie A giants played a goalless 2nd leg against AC Milan. First leg ended 1-1 at the San Siro months ago, giving Juventus the advantage.

Before the 2nd leg kick-off, a minute of silence was held for all those who lost their lives from the COVID-19 pandemic.

AC Milan were reduced to 10-men at the 16th minute when Rebic was shown a red card. Juve awarded a penalty, Cristiano Ronaldo’s effort was saved by shotstopper Donnarumma. Paulo Dybala couldn’t convert his freekick and saw his other effort stopped by the Milan goalkeeper.

It finished: Juventus 0-0 Milan
Aggregate: 1-1, Juventus proceeds to the final of Coppa Italia on away goal rule,  where they’ll face Napoli (June 17, 2020). Napoli defeated Inter Milan 2-1 on aggregate to book their spot.

Juventus defender Bonucci spoke after the Juventus-Milan match, backing his teammate Cristiano, “Even the greatest miss penalties”. We look forward to the next game.
