WE IN ME!
I Introduced myself as ikise Atabang
To a familiar unfamiliarized stranger
“Oh! I thought as much”, he said
So where’re you heading to? He asked
“To everywhere and nowhere.” I replied
“But you’re sounding so mysterious” he said
Was he expecting me to smile here or do the opposite?
Can we be going please? l felt insecured
“Ok then, no problem!” He agreed.
He began to talk as we walked down
“See, Ikise, I am the familiar unfamiliarized stranger
When you smile; I am the smile
When you are serious; I am the seriousness
When you cry; I am the tears
When you laugh; I am the laughter
When you’re sad; I am the sadness
When you’re happy; I am the happiness
When you’re sorrowful; I am the sorrow
When you’re joyful; I am the joy
When you’re disappointed; I am the disappointment
When you’re expecting; I am the expectation.
I’m simply your INSTINCT!
What you do at a particular moment of your life,
Is just who I am to you.”
“Thank you so much” I said
And we both parted in me!

A LETTER TO MY KIN
I tried so hard and cried aloud
But my smiles and laughter drowned
My tears
A tale I desire and pray I forget is one that hunts me even yet
The ones I love I hurt the most.
My life a worthless filthy sack
I claim to believe In the one that saves
But in all honesty in lifes sea I’m lost.
Confused.
Although confidently confused with a mask of wisdom gracing my ever dumb mind.
Dont let them know they would deem you weak.
I say everyday in the closet of my heart.
My cup no longer half empty.
But now overflowing.
When I made my mother bleed from her eyes.
And now I only wish to die by your hands.
Oh holy one that saves.
A painful one.
To wash away all my sins.
And save the world from myself a ticking bomb with the wrong wire cut.
