Barcelona No.1 transfer target still Lautaro Martinez; Barca set to make £93m bid

With Luis Suarez and Ousmane Dembele both out of action due to “knee” and “hamstring” injury respectively,Barcelona are still trying to sign a new striker despite transfer window shut. 

The club have identified 4 players being considered as the new striker: Willian Jose,Angel Rodriguez,Lucas Perez and Loren Moron. But despite the four-man shortlist,Barca’s no.1 target is still Inter Milan’s striker Lautaro Martinez…seen as the long-term successor to Luis Suarez. 

The Catalan giants set to make £93m summer bid for the 22-year old Argentine,who has scored 16 goals in 27 appearances for Antonio Conte in all competitions for Inter. Martinez has formed a deadly strike-partnership with Romelu Lukaku who’s also on superb form. 

Barcelona will be allowed to sign an “emergency striker” if Dembele will not return for the rest of the season due to injury. If Barca does sign an emergency striker,the player will only be allowed to play for domestic competitions….leaving Barca short of options in the Uefa Champions league. Barcelona to face Napoli soon in the last 16 stage.
