Sadio Mane wins African Player of the Year 2019 ahead of Salah and Mahrez

Liverpool forward Sadio Mane beats teammate Mohamed Salah and City’s Riyad Mahrez to win his 1st “African Player of the Year” Award. 

Mane was also Senegal’s main man at the 2019 AFCON held in Egypt. Netted 3 goals before losing the final to winners Algeria. Also won the Champions league,Super Cup and Club World Cup with Liverpool….with Mane playing a major role in the Reds success last year.

Riyad Mahrez’s freekick goal against Nigeria in 2019 AFCON semifinal was voted “African Best Goal of the Year”.

Morocco and Dortmund star Achraf Hakimi was voted 2019 “African Youth Player of the Year” ahead of Nigerian duo Chukwueze and Osimhen. 

Hakimi has been on superb form for german club Dortmund,causing Real Madrid to reconsider ending his loan deal earlier than expected. The RB is the highest-scoring defender in this season’s UCL.

Nigerian/Barcelona forward Asisat Oshoala won the “African Women’s Player of the Year 2019”. Her fourth time of winning the award. She was congratulated by NFF,La Liga and FC Barcelona. 

Algeria coach Djamel Belmadi won “African Men’s Coach of the Year”
