Liverpool’s duo Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah alongside Manchester City’s Riyad Mahrez are the top 3 finalists for 2019 African Player of the Year award.
Mane,Salah and co lead Liverpool to winning last season’s Uefa Champions league trophy against Tottenham,plus the UEFA Super Cup against Chelsea and just recently the Club World Cup against Flamengo.
Mane and Salah were also awarded the Premier league golden boot as the Reds finished 2nd behind EPL winners City last season.
Riyad Mahrez was on superb form last season too as the Algerian helped City defend their EPL title.
Also led his country Algeria to beat Sadio Mane’s Senegal and win 2019 AFCON in Egypt.
The former Leicester City winger also won lots of domestic trophies with City last season.
The winner will be announced on January 7th 2020. Mane looks the more likely to win the award. He finished 4th in Ballon D’or 2019 rankings.
