For players like Mohamed Salah,Kevin Debruyne,Lukaku and Cuadrado: their football and marketing value increased astonishingly since been sold off by Chelsea; the same cannot be said for players like: Fernando Torres,Schurrle,Batshuayi,Bakayoko and soon to be sold Alvaro Morata.
Since Germany International and World Cup winner Andre Schurrle was sold away from Chelsea FC,nothing has been heard again about the once Super-sub.
Schurrle was once a promising talent in Europe when he joined Chelsea. He was praised for his *Super-sub moments*. He also assisted the Mario Gotze winning goal that helped Germany lift the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil. Schurrle also scored two immediate goals coming from the bench in Germany’s famous 🇩🇪7-1🇧🇷 thrashing of host nation Brazil. That’s how good Andre Schurrle was.
Since he left Chelsea under mysterious circumstances, Schurrle joined Wolfsburg,Borussia Dortmund and currently back in Premier League with Fulham. Now with a smaller club, the german is gradually returning to his best scoring superb goals for Fulham.
Let’s start from Spanish striker Fernando Torres. Torres was one of top 3 best footballers in the world during his time at Liverpool. Immediately he was bought by Chelsea, his career after only a few months hit rock bottom. Torres left Stamford Bridge frustrated, joining AC Milan who also rejected him after a few games before his boyhood club Atletico Madrid especially Coach Diego Simeone rescued him.
Next up Kevin Debruyne. Many fans of Chelsea football club blame Jose Mourinho for the woeful transfer business of the Blues but the coach only has limited say in each transfer deal. Mourinho was impatient with the Belgium midfielder. Debruyne joined Bundesliga side Wolfsburg, became the best player of that season scoring goals and assisting his teammates;was close to joining Germany giants Bayern Munich before Manchester City signed him. Now Debruyne is one of the best midfielders in the Barclay’s Premier League.
Mohamed Salah is one player Chelsea fans will never forgive their management for letting go. Salah left Stamford Bridge to join Serie A side AS Roma before Liverpool signed the Egyptian forward. Now the rest is history. Salah is one of the best forwards in the Premier League.
Chelsea’s current situation at the moment is Alvaro Morata. The same Morata who scored goals on regular basis while playing for Juventus and also when the Spaniard returned to Real Madrid. Since Morata’s move to Stamford Bridge, his luck only lasted a month or two before his career started crashing.
Here’s the funny Part: Diego Costa was casted out by Chelsea through an SMS📩 from Antonio Conte. Costa was to join Atletico Madrid but play after six months. Then Morata became the main striker for the Spanish National team. Immediately Diego Costa started playing for his new club,Morata began to flop at Chelsea making him not chosen for the 2018 World Cup in Russia. Costa was the main striker going into the World Cup with Valencia’s Rodrigo and Celta Vigo’s Iago Aspas the other options in attack.
Lukaku another Chelsea outcast shone at Merseyside club Everton before the Blues planned to resign him for a hefty price but were beaten by rivals Manchester United for the Belgian’s signature. Lukaku has been described on numerous occasions while playing at Old Trafford as *being lazy and not fit to be called a striker*.
Nathan Ake was let go by Chelsea to join Premier League club Bournemouth. Now he’s linked back to Stamford Bridge definitely for a price X3 his initial transfer fee.
The next victim of Chelsea has to be Michy Batshuayi who was once Europe’s consistent striker while playing at Ligue 1 club Marseille. After few months of Batshuayi joining Chelsea,he fell out with the club. Fans wanting him sold out. Michy lost confidence while playing for Chelsea. The Belgian couldn’t handle the pressure. His confidence in front of goal was later recovered at Dortmund. He’s now at La Liga club Valencia but not performing as expected. The Belgian is heading towards the exit doors of Valencia.
Let’s not forget another victim Bakayoko, the French defensive midfielder was crucial as well as other former Monaco teammates like Mbappe,Bernando Silva,Fabinho,Mendy,Lemar and co when AS Monaco lifted the Ligue 1 title under Coach Leonardo Jardim.
He joined Chelsea and instantly his performance declined. He got so bad on the field,he was loaned on a long term deal to AC Milan. At Milan,Bakayoko was labelled *confused, messy and a disaster* after an Europa League game against Olympiacos.
These player situations at Chelsea are mostly as a result of the board wanting fast and good results. This Chelsea strategy has both good and bad effects. The good part of it is: It makes Chelsea a serious Football club with huge title ambitions. Chelsea due to their strategy picked up the Champions league, Premier League and few other domestic cups. The bad effect: Instant Sacking and firing of Coaches, loaning of young talented players and breakdown in confidence of initial top players.
I’ll give credit to Chelsea for the making of top footballers like Cech,Drogba,Lampard,Terry,Ivanovic,Hazard and Willian. But more player careers have declined THAN rose since joining the Blues.
Chelsea currently set to offload Alvaro Morata to any club interested in his services with hope of uniting Coach Sarri with his former striker Gonzalo Higuain. The Blues are also in battle to keep hold of talented youngster Hudson-Odoi from the hands of Bayern Munich.
