OFFICIAL: Manchester United and Chelsea qualify for UEFA Champions League

The final day of the English Premier League saw both Manchester United and Chelsea securing spots for next season’s Champions League football. United beating Leicester City 2-0 to seal 3rd spot while Chelsea defeated Wolves 2-0 to secure 4th spot on the PL table.

The results mean English clubs participating in next season’s UCL are Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea. 

United needed a 71st minute penalty to take the lead at Leicester. Bruno Fernandes again coverting the penalty very well. Jesse Lingard then confirmed their UCL spot when he doubled United’s lead at stoppage time.

For Chelsea, two first half stoppage-time goals sealed their UCL spot. Mason Mount and Olivier Giroud to the rescue. The biggest news was Chelsea coach Franck Lampard dropping “the most expensive goalkeeper” Kepa Arrizabalaga, Willy Caballero was chosen in his place.
