PROLOGUE

“Forgive me father for I have sinned … it’s been over ten years since my last confession. Father I have done so many terrible things, I am not even sure I can remember all of them” I said with tears in my eyes. 

“Take your time Son, Jesus loves you” The priest encouraged me.

I closed my eyes as the events of my life in previous years came flashing.

My name is Valentine, but most people call me Val. I’m the only son of a single mother. I was told by my mom that my dad passed away when I was five in a ghastly motor accident. I was in the same car with him.

She was quite young when my dad died, but instead of remarrying she chose to take over my dad’s business and take care of me too. She showered me with love and made sure I got whatever it was I needed with hope that I’ld one day make her proud, by being a successful and responsible man. I was determined to make her proud.
