FOOTBALL: Chelsea have agreed a deal in principle to sign Timo Werner

According to Sky Sports and Goal, Premier league club Chelsea have agreed a deal in principle to sign Bundesliga star Timo Werner from RB Leipzig.

The german striker is a major target for Liverpool, Manchester United and few other clubs, his release clause expires on Monday June 15th.

With his preferred club Liverpool unable to pay his release clause, the Blues have offered the Germany international £200,000 a week deal. Timo Werner main priority is to sign for a Champions League club where he can play regularly; and would be delighted to play under Chelsea coach Frank Lampard.

The German striker will be Chelsea’s second summer signing alongside Ajax star Hakim Ziyech coming to Stamford Bridge on July 1st.
