NZD: 8 Facts the Current School System Won’t Tell You

The current educational system we’ve has not been able to keep pace with the global and technological changes we face in our world today.

School is very essential but can’t help you in life’s journey(the future) once you graduate. Below are 8 facts you should really think about:

1. School wants you to work for money all your life, but not “make money work for you”.

2. School rewards good grades but life rewards talent and solutions to life problems.

3. School’s dream for you is to “study hard so you find a good company or firm to work for” but not “study hard and create or buy a company”.

4. School wants you to become a specialist in a particular field, when life is broad and you can never tell where you find yourself tomorrow. “The more specialized you are in just one field, the more trapped and dependant you remain there”.

5. School will tell you how to earn money but not how to spend money. “Wealth is not made by how much your salary is but by your spending habits”.

6. School prepares you for academic and professional challenges based on your field of study, meanwhile….the real world is filled with life-long awaiting challenges which may never be related to a single school lecture.

7. School doesn’t want you to be rich, but to work hard all the days of your life and become average.

8. School is designed to produce good employees but not employers.

The richest people in our world today, focused mainly on their skill/what they loved doing and really good at, and used it to create value in the lives of others. Good grades didn’t give them such wealth. Bill Gates created Microsoft, Mark Zukerburg loved coding and created Facebook, Jeff Becoz created Amazon, Jack Ma created Alibaba, Steve Jobs created Apple Company (The iPhone).

In the past, Every kid’s dream was to become a Lawyer or Doctor. Today, kids now want to become the next Cristiano Ronaldo, the next Justin Bieber, Michael Jordan, Elon Musk, Tom Cruise, Tiger Woods, Ariana Grande, Selena Gomez.

Teenagers and Youths have little motivation for school nowadays. Everyone wants to be an Instagram influencer, Slay Queen or YouTube star or Tech genius cos that’s where the fame, money and prestige is.

Am not saying don’t take your academics seriously. Do study hard but don’t spend all your time at school just on your course of study….learn other skills in demand or side hustles, if you’ve a talent(improve, use and market it), learn about life and what awaits you after in future. #NZD

As Jay Shetty once said “Find what you’re good at, what you’re passionate about, what you love doing, and use it to make an impact or difference to the life of others”.
