Real Madrid are the Champions of SuperCopa de Espana 2020

Real Madrid are the champions of SuperCopa de Espana 2020 as Los Blancos defeated Atletico Madrid 4-1 on extra-time penalties at the King Abdullah Sports City stadium on Sunday.

Both Madrid clubs failed to score a goal in the first 90mins of the final,and had to extend the match into extra time,then penalty shootouts. Real Madrid midfielder Valverde saw a red card at the 115th minute when he stopped Alvaro Morata from going one-on-one with Thibaut Courtois.

Dani Carvajal,Rodrygo and Luka Modric converted their penalties for Real Madrid,while Atletico Madrid’s Saul Niguez and Thomas Partey failed to convert their opening two penalties….Los Blancos captain Sergio Ramos became hero once again by sending Jan Oblak the wrong way.

It finished Real Madrid 4-1 Atletico Madrid (Penalties). Sergio Ramos who scored the winning penalty will be out for 10-15 days due to a small ankle sprain he got after a poor landing in the match.
