POETRY FRIDAY LINE 27: WILL YOU ALSO GO AWAY?

WILL YOU ALSO GO AWAY?
I ran to that junction
Running with the hope of meeting a human
But it seemed everyone is gone.

I ran back to my family
Running with the hope of seeing a remnant
Painfully, everyone pretended not knowing me.

I left my own to those strangers
I went there with no means of identification
And they insisted knowing where from I came.

I then rushed to that my old friend
Just to find companion
So bad for me, he said we’re no longer mates

I left him immediately to the people in the other world
They cheered me up and offered to receive me
But that big unseen gutter permitted them not.

I then ran to that my other friend I helped when he was down
He entered his jet immediately seeing me and went away
He’s the very reason I’ve watered my face with tears.

So, in my haste to the evil forest
To leave my body to the wild creatures
And my soul to the spirits controlling the air…

That’s how I’ve happened to run into you dearest
And I’m asking; will you also go away?
Or should my spirit go back to rest?

For Man is alone all the years of his life until he finds his companion.
-Ikise Atabang.
