Lionel Messi awarded his 6th Ballon D’or trophy,beating Van Dijk,Cristiano Ronaldo and Sadio Mane to the trophy.
The Barcelona forward becomes the first footballer in history to win 6 Ballon D’or Awards.
Messi was no doubt the best footballer individually this 2019. 3rd runner-up Cristiano Ronaldo was not present in the Ballon D’or ceremony. The Portuguese captain was in Milan to collect the *Serie A player of the year* Award.
Guests at the 64th Ballon D’or ceremony included host and ex-footballer Didier Drogba and other nominees for the award.
Messi is the winner,
Van Dijk in 2nd,Cristiano Ronaldo in 3rd and Sadio Mane in 4th from the 30 nominees shortlisted this 2019.
Liverpool shotstopper Alisson Becker was awarded the first ever Yashin trophy as the Best goalkeeper in 2019. While Matthijs De Ligt awarded Kopa Trophy for Best U21 footballer.
