“My Life: A Future Investment” is a poem written by Mbah Chiamaka.
Born a child, fifteen years ago,
Growing wiser, stronger better,
Who would’ve thought this a child,
Who would become great,
Blossoming bigger, brighter blockbuster,
With nothing but clearer skies.
Growing wiser, stronger better,
Who would’ve thought this a child,
Who would become great,
Blossoming bigger, brighter blockbuster,
With nothing but clearer skies.
First a student, then a scholar,
First a learner, then a teacher,
Poor hindrance uses lack of funds,
But a future investment I hope awaits,
Diligence, doggedness, driving devotee,
Moving on a ladder to success.
First a learner, then a teacher,
Poor hindrance uses lack of funds,
But a future investment I hope awaits,
Diligence, doggedness, driving devotee,
Moving on a ladder to success.
Oh! Now what I see I ponder,
With all my strength and might I wonder,
What it is I hope for me in life,
As gentle as a dove, a gemlike wife,
An Economist of tomorrow,
The one who will lead the former giants of Africa,
And they will be back on their feet,
This is a dream, my life, a future investment.
With all my strength and might I wonder,
What it is I hope for me in life,
As gentle as a dove, a gemlike wife,
An Economist of tomorrow,
The one who will lead the former giants of Africa,
And they will be back on their feet,
This is a dream, my life, a future investment.
