Who will be Ballon D’OR winner 2019?

Will there be a new Ballon d’Or winner this 2019? Van Dijk leading the race at the moment!

Favorites for the award include:

1. Virgil Van Dijk:
Since his move from Southampton to Liverpool,Virgil Van Dijk has been exceptional for the Reds both domestically and in the Champions league last season. 

Adding to Liverpool’s UEFA Super Cup win over Chelsea,the Dutchman is currently leading the race for the 2019 Ballon d’Or award with Barcelona star Lionel Messi and Juventus star Cristiano Ronaldo trailing behind….

2. Lionel Messi: 

Leo had an excellent campaign last season with Barcelona. All was going well for the Argentine picking up his 6th Ballon d’Or until Barca shocking 4-0 exit from the UCL by Liverpool,adding with Copa Del Rey loss to Valencia and also Copa America defeat to rivals Brazil. Despite all these,Messi was the top goalscorer in both LaLiga and UCL. 

3. Alisson Becker:
Just like Van Dijk,the Brazilian shot-stopper has been exceptional since his arrival to Anfield. Alisson has picked up numerous golden gloves making him a big contender for the 2019 FIFA Ballon d’Or award. 

4. Sadio Mane: 

Very crucial for Liverpool last season. Scored both goals against Chelsea at the UEFA Super Cup. Sadio Mane is more a threat than Mohamed Salah. He plays like a non-stop engine,always giving defenses problem from start of match to final whistle. Won the Champions league and Super Cup with Liverpool. Including EPL golden boot. 

5. Mohamed Salah:

Helped Liverpool pick both UEFA champions league and Super Cup. Salah also won the Premier league golden boot with teammate Sadio Mane and Arsenal striker Aubameyang. 

6. Cristiano Ronaldo: 

In his first season for Juventus,won the Serie A,Italian Cup,MVP award and Nations league Cup with Portugal. 

Other favorites include Bernando Silva and Raheem Sterling

B.Silva won domestic trophies with Manchester City. Also won the Nations league with Portugal. Last season was a great one for the Portuguese.

Raheem Sterling: Another Manchester City player who shocked the world with his performance. Sterling scored lots of goals for both club and country and was very crucial in City’s success last season.
