Poetry Friday Line 12: LIKE A WOMAN
LOVE CYCLE
Turn me down
I’ll rise again
Break me apart
I’ll again be made whole
Weaken me
I’ll be strong again
This business,
I was told is a geometric one
So forget it
If you hit me two times
Another will sure hit you four
And another must sure hits your hitter eight times
For your information,
Love applies the principle of geometric progression
If you study it well,
The breaker becomes the most broken
Just so, no man leaves with the glory.
I chase you
But you let me down to chase another
That chases another
Who chases me
And in your mind,
I’m a cheap product
But your pricey product
Is after the cheaper product
Who in turn is after the cheapest.
It’s very simple,
Love is a cycle
Your starting point is also your stopping point
Your most expensive
Is my cheapest
And your most desired
Is my least wanted
No man has the best!

AVOW
She is so magical!
She is so beautiful!!
She is powerful!!!
She is wonderfully made, no one can withstand her!
Everybody wants her, I am one of them.
Many could kill just to have her.
Does that make her evil? No!
She is very difficult to get, so if you’re ever lucky better keep her.
And guard her with all your Wisdom and strength
Hey!
You don’t know how much I love you,
But I really need you.
So here is my proposal baby,
Would you come to me?
And would you stay with me?
I promise not to let you go
I would guard and protect you always and forever
There is Nothing I like more than having you in my hands or
Inhaling that your alluring smell.
I always have this inner peace anytime you’re with me.
Imagine running into a problem, when you are not around.
A man without you, is worthless.
A life without you, is tragic.
But A life with you is worth living.
A man with you, is wealthy and happy.
He is never lonely,
Your charisma attracts people to him,
He would always have friends around him.
Both the good ones and the bad ones.
Does that make you bad? No!
Money!
Can you hear me?
Oh! Don’t pretend. I know you can hear me.
Yes, you are the one I am talking about.
You are the one I am talking to.
I’m in love with you.
I need you,
My friends need you.
Our parents need you,
The Church needs you,
Our nation needs you.
Because You are too good baby,
You have the tendency to change things.
You give joy, happiness, life, love.
Before I drop my pen I would love to apologize for the accusations labeled against you.
“Money is evil”
“Money brings hatred”
“Money brings envy” and so on.
The truth is HUMANS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL THEIR ACTIONS.
Yes we are!
It’s never your fault, you have a good heart.
I love you.

LIKE A WOMAN
Time’s a beautiful restless woman.
Fleeting from second to second.
You think she’s yours.
But, that’s what every other person thinks.
Well, truth be told she’s no man’s friend.
She’d betray your looks.
Snuff out your strength.
She’d leave you all saggy, weak and hoary.
When you’re late it’s on you.
Because she waits for no-one. .
Now, just when you think it’s all ho-hum.
She’d snatch everyone and everything around you away.
When you look back at her
You wouldn’t even recognize yourself.
Once you loose her.
You never get her back.
We all chase her
And it’s almost impossible to beat her.
She’s never enough.
She looks gorgeous in every clock.
When she’s slow you wait on her.
But when you need her
she flies.
And just like that before you know it.
Your time’s up.

THE DECISION
I have decided to leave
A life without friends
For my life is of rags
In the midst of friends
I have decided to leave
For friends I have not
Because my friends help not
In time I needed them most
I have decided to leave
A life without friends
Till my voice lost in death
And I’m lower benearth the earth.
Call me not for I won’t pick your calls
Don’t try asking why such decision
For it’s my life not yours
Go, I need you not in my life again.

GREATNESS
I long to be great.
My mother believes I can be great.
My grandmother knows I will be great.
My father is proud that I am great.
“Be not afraid of greatness:
Some are born great,
Some achieve greatness
And some have greatness thrust upon them.”
What is greatness?
Excellence
Achievement
Worth
Value
Me?
Greatness is having done marvelous things.
Greatness is rising above the ordinary to become extraordinary.
Greatness is strength under suffering.
Greatness is magnificence.
Where can I find this greatness?
Others see it in my writing,
But all I see are little black words on white paper.
Insignificant words with tiny meanings,
At that.
Greatness is found in history and heroes,
In mythology and stories,
In others’ words and others’ deeds.
My vocabulary is lacking,
My prose sometimes stilted,
My alliteration and rhyme often accidental.
How can a little noone from nowhere be great?
The great bard tells me not to fear greatness, but he himself has already achieved it,
Claimed it forever.
Throughout the world, in every language,
He is upheld as the mark of greatness for our language.
What does he have to fear?
Even death, that great mystery none can escape, has already claimed him
And yet it cannot claim his greatness.
Me?
Great?
I don’t think it can ever be so.
The statistical probability is too close to nothing
For any kind of optimism to take root here.
I do not fear greatness, but
I fear myself incapable of finding it.
I was not born great,
I don’t think I can achieve greatness,
And I’m not going to hold my breath waiting for improbable events to thrust unseen greatness upon me.
This reality would not be so bad if it were just me…
But
My mother believes I can be great.
My grandmother knows I will be great.
My father is proud that I am great.
I am not great,
Will not ever be great, I think,
And so
My mother cannot believe in me,
My grandmother cannot know me,
My father cannot be proud of me.
I do not fear greatness, but
I fear myself incapable of finding it
