A joyful night for the Super Eagles of Nigeria ?? as they defeated South Africa 2-1 to book a spot in the AFCON 2019 semifinals!

A brilliant goal from Villarreal winger Samuel Chukwueze at the 17th minute gave Nigeria the early lead. South Africa then equalized after a controversial goal from Zungu. The goal from initially ruled for offside but VAR was used and the goal awarded.

At the closing stages of the match,Nigeria prevented it from extending into extra time as defender Troost-Ekong poked in a corner when South Africa goalie Williams missed punching the ball.

It finished Nigeria 2-1 South Africa

Super Eagles are the second side to book a Semi-final spot after Senegal reached theirs earlier when Sadio Mane’s team defeated Benin.
